accommodation units in extreme sourroundings

Design studio winter semester 2019 / 2020

Whether hiking, swimming in the forest or mountain biking - nature-oriented tourism in Germany is becoming increasingly popular.
The 112 km long Malerweg in the Saxon Switzerland National Park is an ideal destination for this. With its breathtaking backdrop of vast forests, deep gorges and surreal-looking rock formations, it is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Europe. Due to its division into 8 stages, it offers various possibilities from short day trips to hiking experiences lasting several days.
In the draft, an energy self-sufficient, resource-saving small-scale accommodation is to be developed at three locations along the Malerweg. The aspects of prefabrication, transport and the traces the construction leaves on the site are to be taken into account in the design.
A visit to the sites within the framework of a short excursion is planned.
